One of my favorite things about summertime, other than tan lines and picnics, is summer fashion. To be more specific, I'm talking about resort/cruise collections. These are pre-season ready-to-wear collections that represent the upcoming looks of late summer. Despite their name, they can most definitely be worn to more than just resorts and cruises. While fashion is exciting in the fall (hellooooo New York Fashion Week) and completely floral and pastel in the spring (*heart eyes*), resort wear seems to have captured my heart entirely. In my opinion, it's the perfect mix of fall AND spring and you'll soon see what I mean.

When I was little, I hated reading. Emphasis on "hated." No matter how many times my parents dragged me to the library or bookstore, I dug my heals in and refused to pick up a book. Aesthetic. With social media on a constant rise and an increase in careers available in social media, all I ever seem to hear about is aesthetic. It's used to describe your feed, style, and your everyday life. It's a word everyone uses (including myself) but I'm not sure if I even have a full understanding of what it really means. I mean, does everyone have one? If not, how do I get one? Is it something hidden inside me that I have to discover through enlightenment? All I know is that one thing all successful blogs and influencers have is a strong and clear aesthetic. At the age of four I was obsessed with The Wizard of OZ. It was a colorful fairytale with the beautiful Judy Garland as its protagonist who wears the cutest blue picnic dress (um hello current 2018 trend of picnic dresses!). But most of all, it's plot loosely focuses on the ownership of a gorgeous pair of ruby slippers that held magical powers beyond just making my young self drool on the couch. As most little kids do, when there's a character you love, it's inevitable that you will be dressing as that character for Halloween. And that is exactly what I did. But most importantly, I remember having the ruby slippers of my dreams, which I believe has evolved into my unexplainable LOVE for shoes!

History repeating itself is a known fact within the fashion industry. Currently we've been seeing a recurring 90's theme between the endless supply of fanny packs and clunky dad sneakers. There's nothing worse than sitting at home in your pj's thinking about how all your friends are going on vacation and basking in the sun in their sun dresses. Especially in the age of social media, no vacation goes without a post making your feed flooded with people making memories, not working, and having fun. Earth Day Outfit (But Not Really)

Despite the title, the outfit featured in this post can be worn any day of the year (though it might be considered too hot or too cold for certain seasons). I, however, just happened to be wearing it on Earth Day, thus making it an Earth Day outfit. It seems like something that would be easy to find, but that doesn't seem to be the case...at least not in my experience. I wanted a quality sweater for a good price which can be hard to come by. As to be expected, I turned to thrift stores to fix my problem. It took a really long time for me to finally find the perfect red sweater, but lo and behold, here it is! And I got it for only $4! Formal wear has always been a staple in my closet. You can never overdress (unless you wear your prom dress to school), and dressing for success is ALWAYS a good idea.  I don't know about where you live, but sometimes in the summer a few cold spells are casted on the weather and honestly, I love it. The Perfect Summer Purse

For years now, I've had a purse at my side. Though majority of the time, I don't bother to match it to my outfit because I simply don't have enough purses to do that. However, I've come to the realization that there's an affordable way to have more unique purses.

Back in February was my birthday, however my friends, Nat and Katy, told me I'd have to wait till spring to get my birthday present. Finally spring came around and my present was a day filled with plants and fashion. They took me to a snazzy breakfast, a conservatory on Bell Isle, and a college fashion show. Why I Wear Fake Glasses

Well look at that! Perhaps that's some new information for you regarding my eyesight ability! In quite a few of my photos I tend to wear glasses. To an unknowing soul, they look like real, normal, prescription glasses. However, to myself and many others whom I've informed, they look like and are indeed fake, non-prescription glasses.
