Recreating Miu Miu Croisière 2020 with Thrifted Clothing

One of my favorite things about summertime, other than tan lines and picnics, is summer fashion. To be more specific, I'm talking about resort/cruise collections. These are pre-season ready-to-wear collections that represent the upcoming looks of late summer. Despite their name, they can most definitely be worn to more than just resorts and cruises. While fashion is exciting in the fall (hellooooo New York Fashion Week) and completely floral and pastel in the spring (*heart eyes*), resort wear seems to have captured my heart entirely. In my opinion, it's the perfect mix of fall AND spring and you'll soon see what I mean.

A Parisian Look Inspired By My Favorite YA Novel

When I was little, I hated reading. Emphasis on "hated." No matter how many times my parents dragged me to the library or bookstore, I dug my heals in and refused to pick up a book. That was until I became acquainted with Harry Potter. (Thanks J. K. Rowling, I owe you one.) However, that is an entire other story in itself.

It's funny for me to imagine hating one of the things I love most. I mean, it's a dream of mine to one day be a published writer! But among my current love for reading, my favorite genre lies within YA (Young Adult). And within this subcategory is Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.

A Step-by-Step Process to Finding my Aesthetic and what that Really Means

Aesthetic. With social media on a constant rise and an increase in careers available in social media, all I ever seem to hear about is aesthetic. It's used to describe your feed, style, and your everyday life. It's a word everyone uses (including myself) but I'm not sure if I even have a full understanding of what it really means. I mean, does everyone have one? If not, how do I get one? Is it something hidden inside me that I have to discover through enlightenment? All I know is that one thing all successful blogs and influencers have is a strong and clear aesthetic. Perhaps if I found mine, it would turn my blog from a hobby to a career (like we all dream of).

The Four Summertime Shoes You NEED this Summer

At the age of four I was obsessed with The Wizard of OZ. It was a colorful fairytale with the beautiful Judy Garland as its protagonist who wears the cutest blue picnic dress (um hello current 2018 trend of picnic dresses!). But most of all, it's plot loosely focuses on the ownership of a gorgeous pair of ruby slippers that held magical powers beyond just making my young self drool on the couch. As most little kids do, when there's a character you love, it's inevitable that you will be dressing as that character for Halloween. And that is exactly what I did. But most importantly, I remember having the ruby slippers of my dreams, which I believe has evolved into my unexplainable LOVE for shoes!

The 70's Chic Inspiration You've Been Waiting For

Model: Alicia Styled by: Alicia Ward Photographed by: Sarah Grace (Me!)

History repeating itself is a known fact within the fashion industry. Currently we've been seeing a recurring 90's theme between the endless supply of fanny packs and clunky dad sneakers. (Find how I styled a 90's look here!) However, with returning styles and tends, they aren't exactly the same as they used to be. They're revamped and have our 21st century style added to them. Although the rest of us love following trends and find them new and stylish, those whose personal style has always been a specific decade are experiencing their worst nightmare.

What to Do with Your Summer if You're Not Going on Vacation

There's nothing worse than sitting at home in your pj's thinking about how all your friends are going on vacation and basking in the sun in their sun dresses. Especially in the age of social media, no vacation goes without a post making your feed flooded with people making memories, not working, and having fun. However, in order to have fun and enjoy the sun (ew, rhyming) you don't have to travel far away to some tropical paradise.

Earth Day Outfit (But Not Really)

Despite the title, the outfit featured in this post can be worn any day of the year (though it might be considered too hot or too cold for certain seasons). I, however, just happened to be wearing it on Earth Day, thus making it an Earth Day outfit. As one would expect, the weather on this particular day was perfect and my first encounter with warm-ish weather. So, what better way to celebrate our Earth other than basking in all of its natural beauty with a coffee in hand (per usual)? Not to mention, I made a delicious breakfast that morning that will be randomly (awkwardly??) inserted at the end of this post because I take great pride in my culinary abilities and obsession over balsamic glaze. Obviously with that information, you're just dying to read ahead and see the photos that await you. Or at least I'm hoping you are. Hehe :)

Outfits for Spring Break/Summer that Don't Require You to Take Off Your Swim Suit

Recently I've been aching for the warm weather that hasn't quite come yet. Although I adore my jean jacket, I'm ready to put it away and break out the swimwear and mom shorts because hell yeah! Summertime! Not mention, I seem to have better luck thrifting in the summer. So, here's a few outfit ideas for those of you that are in spring break paradise or getting a head start on summer.

What I Wore for Christmas

Christmas is officially over and I couldn't be more saddened. The holiday is filled with cheery music, family, giving, and cozy sweaters. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year and an excellent time to dress your best. After all, you want to look your best while visiting family and give them another subject to brag about in next years family Christmas letter. (I'm only kidding... kind of.) So, as you await the new year to arrive, I thought I'd share with you what I wore this past holiday.

Turning Your Summer Dress into a Fall Outfit

The hardest part about the changing seasons is changing your wardrobe. If you're like me, then you've just spent the past summer building up your collection of shorts, tank tops, and summer dresses and now you're struggling for some autumn inspiration. Instead of heading out to buy new sweaters and flannels, save your money and incorporate your summer wardrobe into your fall wardrobe!

5 Ways to Wear a Red Sweater

Ever since the first time I watched When Harry Met Sally (in particular, the scene where theyre rolling out the carpet in Harry's apartment), I've been searching for a red sweater. It seems like something that would be easy to find, but that doesn't seem to be the case...at least not in my experience. I wanted a quality sweater for a good price which can be hard to come by. As to be expected, I turned to thrift stores to fix my problem. It took a really long time for me to finally find the perfect red sweater, but lo and behold, here it is! And I got it for only $4! So, I thought that this week I'd give you a few outfit ideas for this staple item.

Incorporating "Business Casual" into Your Wardrobe

Formal wear has always been a staple in my closet. You can never overdress (unless you wear your prom dress to school), and dressing for success is ALWAYS a good idea. However, I understand if wearing a suit and tie to school is a bit uncomfortable. Thus, business casual fashion was born. Not only do you look smart and professional, but you can wear your comfortable jeans while doing it. I thought it would be a good idea to show you two outfits that are great for school and will get you ready to give that presentation that's worth half your grade.

How to Wear a Headscarf 3 Different Ways

Currently I've had an infatuation with headscarves. They add a feminine and classic vibe to any look which makes sense considering images of Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly sporting the gorgeous headscarf look in the 60's are still floating around the web. So, here's three different ways for you to wear your headscarf.

Throwback to Some 90's Inspiration

After many hours spent watching Friends and classic movies like Clueless, I've grown a love for 90's fashion. I like how colorful and funky it can be, but I also tried to create a look that wouldn't stand out as much but still stay true to it's time era. The second look I made (pictured above) is more of a classic 90's look, but I'll get into that more throughout the post. Here's two looks I put together that'll hopefully inspire you to channel your inner 90's kid.

Casual Chilly Summer Day OOTD

I don't know about where you live, but sometimes in the summer a few cold spells are casted on the weather and honestly, I love it. It gives me a little taste of fall which is enough to get me excited. I'm ready to whip out the sweaters and fuzzy socks and snuggle by a fire. However, don't let me get ahead of myself. Living in a state where the winter weather is harsh, I need to soak up the sun as much as I can. This has led me to putting together an outfit where I feel cozy in the chilly air, but still keep a somewhat summery vibe.

3 Ways to Wear Your Midi Dress this Summer

A floral midi dress has been on my list of wants for a while now and while searching through more racks at the thrift store, I found this Lord and Taylor lovely for only $6.00! After sewing on a few loose buttons, I began to think of all the different ways I could wear it. I'm sure there's plenty more than three ways to wear it, but these are my favorite.

The Perfect Summer Purse

For years now, I've had a purse at my side. Though majority of the time, I don't bother to match it to my outfit because I simply don't have enough purses to do that. However, I've come to the realization that there's an affordable way to have more unique purses.

Plenty of girls my age can get away with only carrying a Vera Bradley lanyard with cash, licenses, and debit cards stored inside. I have absolutely no idea how they do it because I always need to have a ton of stuff with me when I go out. (I'm the friend who brings enough stuff to practically move in whenever I spend the night). This explains why my recent purchase is perfect.

Fashion Shows and Conservatories

Back in February was my birthday, however my friends, Nat and Katy, told me I'd have to wait till spring to get my birthday present. Finally spring came around and my present was a day filled with plants and fashion. They took me to a snazzy breakfast, a conservatory on Bell Isle, and a college fashion show. A day filled with my favorite things!

Why I Wear Fake Glasses

Well look at that! Perhaps that's some new information for you regarding my eyesight ability! In quite a few of my photos I tend to wear glasses. To an unknowing soul, they look like real, normal, prescription glasses. However, to myself and many others whom I've informed, they look like and are indeed fake, non-prescription glasses. But Why? you ask. When you have perfect eyesight, why would you bother with glasses? Well, I'm about to tell you exactly that.

What is Normcore?

Normcore. I had never heard of the word before Tuesday, but it's been a huge part of my wardrobe and Pinterest for a loooooooong time, I just never knew it! It's basically the blandest, most boring, and painfully average trend which seems to have made the fashion world rewind about two decades.
