Recipe for Happiness: Positivity // Happy Easter!

What?! Another blogpost?! Two days in a row?! Well, because it's Easter, I thought I'd treat you with another blogpost. Also, last night I was feeling inspired to write. So while I sit and watch Steel Magnolias, here ya go!
 
Positivity. It seems that as time moves on and the world becomes more and more advanced, we should become more positive as well. After all, a lot of things are created to make our lives easier. This, however, is not the case. In fact, it seems that now people tend to be more negative. It's never quite enough and we settle with being pleasantly unhappy because it's the new norm. 


Maybe we take things for granted...maybe we think it's cool to be pessimistic...maybe there's so much harsh information at our fingertips, we've forgotten how to be positive...
 
Honestly, I don't know why we sometimes choose to see the darker side of things. I don't know why when something good happens we can't just accept it for what it is and must know "what's the catch." But I do think we can train ourselves to see things in a positive light. For some this may come natural, but for others it may prove to be difficult. That doesn't mean it's not worth the effort, though.
 
Your attitude towards things and life in general greatly effects the kind of life you live and your general happiness. That's why it's important to try your best to keep a positive mind and surround yourself with positive people. I know that it's easier said than done, but take the time now to just take a step back and look at your life, your friends, and even yourself. Think of ways to generate more positivity and cut out the negativity.
 
A good way to keep the positive energy flowing is through smiling. Ask anyone who knows me and they'll tell you how much I love to smile. In fact, sometimes I'll give myself headaches from smiling too much throughout the day...it's actually a bit of a problem. When you smile, not only do you look beautiful, your telling yourself that you're happy and feeling good  and maybe others will catch on as well and join in on the happiness.
 
Acceptance is a huge part of being positive as well. You can't spend your life dwelling on the things that didn't go as planned. Instead of wasting time thinking about what should've happened, use that time to think of all the good things that may come next. 
 
I'm not saying that you should never feel bad or disappointed. We all feel that way at times and it's healthy. I'm just saying that always feeling that way and trying to attract negative thoughts is dangerous and damaging. Eventually it'll work its way into your system until nothing is good enough and you won't be able to see the good in things. It's a positive mindset that can help you through the hard times.
 
One of my favorite quotes is from something I saw on Pinterest, though I'm not sure who said it. It goes: "You think it's cool to hate things. And it's not. It's boring. Talk about what you love and keep quiet about what you don't." 
 
I think that's one of the most inspiring things I've ever read. I actually try to live by that. It's strange to think about why people think it's so cool to hate on things or make fun of them when in the end it just brings unhappiness. Please, I beg you, don't get sucked into the dark shadows of hatred and your "image." It's not worth it.
 
I wrote this late last night, so I'm sorry if it's bit of mumbo jumbo, but it's just something to think about and take note of. I hope you enjoyed this and don't forget to smile.
